"This project for special needs students runs a three year residential course in personal development through horse management. There she learned to be more independent, to conduct herself safely, to be less egocentric, to be tolerant of others, to compromise. Her communication skills improved, her muscles toned up, she began to laugh at herself and not see mistakes as failures. And she learned to look at others in the eye, rather than at their feet.

All of that came through living and working with horses which had to be put first, and the sense of responsibility and pride which comes from handling these demanding and extraordinary creatures."

"There is such a variety on this course. There should be more facilities of this type"
